EEL Program Hosts Malabar Scrub Sanctuary Hike

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Learn how management techniques have helped transform Malabar Scrub Sanctuary back in time into healthier habitats for plants and animals.

The Restoring the Balance: Sanctuary Walk & Ride Malabar Scrub Sanctuary program will consist of a trailer ride and half-mile hike. Please bring sunscreen, water and a hat; climate will be very hot and sunny. (BrevardCounty.us Image)

Through transforming the local habitat they have created more acceptable environments for animals such as the Florida Scrub-Jays, Largeflower False Rosemary and Gopher Tortoises.

The program is to be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, by the Environmentally Endangered Lands Management and Education staff.
