BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech head coach Steve Englehart named Justin Arcune,Collin O’Neal and Ramsey Sellers the program’s first captains before practice began on Monday.

Arcune and Ramsey are in their first year at FIT and O’Neill is in his third.

“All three of our captains are great people,” Englehart said. “They lead this team on and off the field and our team knows that. They were three guys that worked hard in the offseason and continue to work extremely hard. They’ll do a great job leading this team.”

Arcune, a redshirt junior linebacker from Los Altos, Calif., played junior college football at De Anza College.

In 2012, he was named All-NorCal First Team at middle linebacker after recording 54 tackles, 31 were solo, in 11 games. He also had two sacks and recorded one fumble.

COLLIN O’NEAL

O’Neill was a member of the program’s first-ever recruiting class in May 2011. He is a redshirt sophomore wide receiver from Auburndale, Fla.

RAMSEY SELLERS

An anchor on the offensive line, Sellers is one of the strongest, if not the strongest, members of the team at 5-10, 292 pounds. He was a captain at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, earning All-Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges South First Team and was a recipient of the NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Award.

The Panthers will kick off their inaugural 2013 season in front of a sold out crowd on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET against Stetson at Palm Bay High School’s Pirate Stadium.

In addition to the three captains announced on Monday, Englehart will name a fourth captain leading up to each game.

Although tickets are not available for FIT’s first game, single-game general admission tickets are available for the Panthers’ five other home games, including their nationally televised game on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET against defending Gulf South Conference Champion West Alabama.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for FIT faculty and staff with school ID, seniors ages 65 and above, children ages 5-16 and active duty military with ID. Children under five years of age are free.
