BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Lillian “Fern” Alderson born In Piedmont, West Virginia on September 16, 1921 passed just six days shy of her 92nd birthday on Sept. 10, 2013.
Fern lived most of her life in New London, CT where she was employed by the New London Federal Savings and Loan. She had a very happy and full life. Fern was predeceased by her husband, her true love, H. Fremont Alderson.
At the age of 79, Fern moved to Indialantic to be close to her daughters. She started each day with the daily crossword puzzle, completing it within an hour. She visited the library quite often as she was an avid reader. The highlights of her last few years were time with her family, visits from her neighbors, luncheons out, and a glass of chardonnay. Fern had a quick wit, a lively personality, and a radiant warm smile.
She is survived by her three children, her son Richard Brace and his wife Linda of Fond Du Lac, WI, daughter Linda Fern Davis and husband Tom , daughter Kim Copertino and husband Louis of Indialantic, FL, stepchildren Gay Rawlins and husband Chuck of Mecina, NY and Bill Alderson of Houlton, ME, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren . She was predeceased by two grandchildren Christine Stockman and Charles Fremont Rawlins.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday October 19, 2013 at Beach Funeral Home-East, 1689 S. Patrick Dr, Indian Harbour Beach, FL.
