EFSC’s Doyle Wins Basketball Player of Week Honors

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College’s Jessica Doyle is this week’s NJCAA Region 8/Florida College System Activities Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Doyle, a freshman from Palm Bay, Florida and Heritage High, averaged 25.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks in three games during the voting period.
Against Webber International’s junior varsity, Daytona State College and College of Central Florida Doyle connected on 48.9 percent (23-of-47) of her shots overall, including 42.9 percent (12-of-28) from the three-point stripe and 90.0 percent (18-of-20) from the free throw line.
AVERAGING 20.6 POINTS PER GAME
Doyle had a 28-point effort in the first game of the week against Webber (Nov. 12) and a 33-point effort in the final game against Central Florida (Nov. 16) including six of her 12 three-point baskets for the week.
On the season, Doyle is averaging 20.6 points per game, good for 15th in the nation.
