NASA Responds, Beyonce Issues Apology
ABOVE VIDEO: Beyonce apologizes for an audio clip featuring a quote from NASA’s mission control during the Challenge explosion.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – NASA responded to the recent controversy surrounding pop Star Beyonce’s use of audio from the Challenger space shuttle explosion.
In Beyonce’s video, audio from mission control is played which includes the quote “Flight control is looking at the situation. Obviously a major malfunction.”
Below is NASA’s response to the artist’s use of the clip.
“The Challenger accident is an important part of our history; a tragic reminder that space exploration is risky and should never be trivialized,” said the statement from Lauren B. Worley, NASA’s press secretary. “NASA works every day to honor the legacy of our fallen astronauts as we carry out our mission to reach for new heights and explore the universe.”
