BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Eastern Florida’s baseball team won its fifth straight game on Monday defeating Community College of Baltimore County 9-4 at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus.

The victory improved Eastern Florida’s record to 7-3. The Titans recorded 14 hits and committed three errors. CCBC had eight hits and three errors.
“We’re definitely swinging the bats and running the bases very well, I think defensively we need to shore it up just a little bit more, we’ve made some mistakes,” said Eastern Florida head coach Jeff Tam.

“The offense has been definitely carrying the workload right now. The pitching is coming around. There are definitely situations where we need to hunker down a little bit and work a little bit harder and make that one pitch to get out of a tough inning after the mistakes have been made.”

Freshman left-hander Nick Sucarichi got the win for Eastern Florida scattering five hits over five innings, allowing two runs and recording two strikeouts.
Offensively freshman Christian Diaz went 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs batted in; sophomore J.J. Gould went 3-for-5 with an RBI and sophomore Jack Machonis went 2-for-5 with a double.
Next up for the Titans is a 3 p.m. Wednesday game at Daytona State College. The Titans return home to face Polk State College at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Admission to Eastern Florida home games is free.
