presented Cancer Care Foundation of Brevard with $2,500 check
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Palm Bay Professional Firefighters Community Benevolent presented a $2,500 check to the Cancer Care Foundation of Brevard last week.
The money came from the proceeds of t-shirt sales during last October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. The popular black t-shirts with a symbolic pink fire-rescue logo and lettering were meant not only to raise funds to help cancer patients, it also was meant to raise awareness about the services provided by the Cancer Care Foundation of Brevard.

“What you all have done to support our mission is so much appreciated,” said Marta Fiol, secretary of the board for the Cancer Care Foundation. “This money will go a long way and make such a positive impact on the lives of so many people who are suffering with cancer and who are just trying to survive. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
The Cancer Care Foundation began in 1993 when founder and cancer survivor Dr. Silas Charles recognized there was a need to help patients and cancer survivors by more than simply treating the disease.

All of the money donated to the foundation goes directly to help support patients and their families by helping pay expenses such as rent, utilities, mortgages, groceries, transportation and other everyday expenses that can be difficult to maintain during treatment.
The Cancer Care Foundation also helps with medical expenses for those who are uninsured or under-insured.
The Palm Bay Firefighters Community Benevolent, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) organization designed to provide community support through charitable events and contributions.
