Bicyclist Michael Kaier Struck, Killed By Car On Fiske

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Michael Kaier, 64, of Rockledge, was struck and killed today at about 1:45 p.m. as he rode his bicycle southbound on Fiske Boulevard in Rockledge, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Angela Stowers, 45, of Melbourne, was traveling southbound on Fiske Boulevard driving a 2012 Honda Civic and approached the traffic signal for I-95 southbound.

Kaier was traveling southbound on the edge of the roadway just ahead of Stowers’ Honda.

According to FHP, for an unknown reason, Kaier made a left turn into the roadway, and into the direct path of the Honda.

Stowers swerved in an attempt to avoid the collision with the bicycle, but the front left side of her Honda struck Kaier, who went down on the roadway and was killed.

This incident remains under investigation.
