PALM-BAY-POLICE-BREAKING-435-13PALM BAY, FLORIDA — A 41-year-old man is in custody following a robbery at a local pharmacy in Palm Bay.

It was the second robbery in as many days.  According to Palm Bay’s public information officer Yvvone Martinez, emergency dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call reporting a robbery at the CVS at 339 Emerson Drive, just before 9:30 a.m. Saturday.  It is less than one mile from the Walgreens pharmacy on Minton Rd. that was robbed on Friday afternoon.

According to Martinez, the caller reported a white male suspect had entered the store with a note in which he demanded money and prescription pain killers and other narcotics.  The caller reported a similar description as the suspect who committed the robbery at the Walgreens pharmacy. Officer Troy Ramirez was in the area and saw an individual on foot who matched the description of the suspect.  This was in the area of Krefeld Rd. NW.

As the officer made contact with the suspect he found the male was in possession of drugs from the CVS pharmacy and he also matched the physical description and clothing description of the suspect in the robbery.  The victims also positively identified the man as the suspect who robbed the CVS.  Further investigation revealed the suspect was also the same man who committed the robbery at Walgreens.

The suspect is identified as Travis Gerry.  He is facing two counts of robbery.  No one was injured in either case.
