Smaller Stores Would Be Built in Seaside Communities, College Towns
LAKELAND, FLORIDA — Publix may offer smaller stores for seaside communities and college towns.
According to real estate sources quoted in Orlando Business Journal, the smallers stores would be 20,000 square feet, compared to the typical Publix grocery stores can range from 40,000 to 60,000 square feet.
Publix already has a very strong market share with 1,067 stores in the Southeastern U.S. and more than 150,000 employees.
