ORLANDO, FLORIDA — Former UCF quarterback Blake Bortles was selected third overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2014 NFL draft.
He was the frist quarterback selected in the draft after commanding the Knights to an overall record of 12-1 last season.
Bortles has beat Daunte Culpepper’s record of the highest drafted player in UCF football history.
UCF has now produced at least one Knight in the NFL Draft in each of the last nine seasons. Entering this year’s draft, it is one of 32 schools with one or more players selected each year dating back to the 2006 draft.
Jadeveon Clowney from South Carolina was the first overall selection by the Houston Texans.
