GAME 1: Belgium 1 defeats Algeria, 2-1.

Following a 3-1 win over Croatia, Brazil hopes for a strong game from its frontline, especially since Hulk and Neymar are dealing with injuries. Brazil won the last matchup, a convincing 2-0 win in last year’s Confederations Cup.

GAME 3: Russia vs. South Korea

russia-flagThe nightcap features two teams in desperate need of breaking past misfortunes in World Cup tournaments. South Korea have only won two of their last 10 World Cup games (against Togo in 2006 and Greece in 2010).  Russia went out of the first round in 1994 and did not appear again until 2002. They won a grand total of two matches across those eight years.

 

FlagbigRussia’s offensive attack is led by 23-year old phenom Aleksandr Kokorin,the youngest player to score 10 or more goals in the Russian Premier League in 2013/14. South Korea is led by Hong Jeung-Ho, Ki Sung-Yueng, Koo Ja-Cheol and Son Heung-Min, who star for clubs in the Premier League and the Bundesliga.
