BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation “2014 Doctors Expo” will feature a special Health Insurance Fair and a Health Fair during the philanthropic organization’s day-long array of events set for Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Hilton Rialto in Melbourne, Florida.

The Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation “Doctors Expo 2014” will feature a special Health Insurance Fair during the philanthropic organization’s day-long array of events set for Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Hilton Rialto in Melbourne, Florida.

Health insurance providers and experts will be featured in a special area where they can meet the public, answer their questions and assist people navigate through the Health Insurance Exchange and Medicare options available.

“Due to the myriad of health insurance changes, and options that are now available to people, our board felt that there is a need for an event where all health insurance products, services and information can be explained to the public,” said Dr. Khanti Bhalani, founder of the Doctors Goodwill Foundation.

In addition to the Health Insurance Fair, the Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation will present their 11th annual Doctors’ Expo, Health Fair and CME Event.

The Doctors’ Expo will include a Health Fair from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., followed by a free Continuing Medical Education (CME) event with 4 available CME’s: E-FORCSE – Florida’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Database; 2 CME’s for Medication Errors and 1 CME for Electronic Health Records.

The Health Fair will include exhibitors from a wide variety of health related companies offering the latest in goods and services in the health care field. Admission is free for the public, to the Health Insurance Expo, Health Fair and CME events.

Drug Take Back Event from 9 am until 12 pm

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Department Violent Crimes Division will provide a free Drug Take Back event, at the Health Fair, from 9 am until 12 pm, where members of the public can safely dispose of unused medicines and drugs, by turning them into the Brevard County Sherrifs Department. New this year is the first annual Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation Ambassador Awards Gala, presented in collaboration with Space Coast Medicine & Active Living magazine.

This exciting and inspiring event will include dinner and feature a special multimedia program honoring and recognizing the outstanding people and organizations that have contributed so much to the successful efforts of the Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation.

Since it’s inception, the Doctors Goodwill Foundation has raised more than $1,000,000 for charities both in Brevard and around the world.

One of Brevard’s most prolific philanthropic organizations, the DGF’s mission is to provide medical assistance in Brevard and around the world to those in need, and offer scholarships to students pursuing a career in health care.

The Doctors Goodwill Foundation will join the diverse array of medical-centric special events during Space Coast Medicine & Active Living magazine’s “Space Coast Medicine Week, including theCentral Florida Humanitarian Awards.

ALL CENTRAL FLORIDA HUMANITARIAN ALUMNI are presented a specially commissioned medallion to celebrate their dedication to making our community, and the world, a better place.

The Central Florida Humanitarian Awards committee is now accepting nominations for the 2014 honorees who will be recognized during the Gala event on Thursday, Nov. 6 at the Hilton Rialto  Place in Melbourne, Florida.

Now in its fifth year, the Central Florida Humanitarian Awards were created to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations that dedicate their Time, Talent or Treasure to help people in need locally – and around the world. Last year, more than 30 deserving humanitarians were honored at the sold-out Gala.
