Brevard County Grand Jury Indicts Robert L. Turner

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Brevard County Grand Jury indicted Robert L. Turner, aka “Jersey,” on a charge of  first-degree premeditated murder in connection with the Sept. 1 Labor Day shooting death of  31-year-old Alphonso Jacobs Jr. in a parking lot at Shull Manor Apartments in Melbourne.

Turner, 32, was also indicted on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, said Assistant State Attorney Michael Hunt who presented the witnesses who testified to the Grand Jury. Turner has been held without bail in the Brevard County jail since his arrest on Sept. 4. He is expected to make a first appearance tomorrow(Wed., Oct. 1) on the indicted charges.

According to State Attorney Phil Archer’s office, the Grand Jury heard testimony from the Associate Brevard County Medical Examiner, a Melbourne Police Department crime scene investigator and detective, and a lay witness, before returning with the indictment, Hunt said.
