MIHS Volleyball To Help Local Cancer Patient

MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA —  The Merritt Island volleyball team will be hosting a special event to help a local teen in need of help for her medical condition.

When the Mustangs host Melbourne on Thursday, Sept. 11, the match will be unofficially known as “Rock for Julie” Night.”

The Mustangs players will be wearing “Rock for Julie” t-shirts the day of the game at school, and during warm-ups prior to the game.

The “Friday Night Locker Room” will be broadcasting the game live on the radio starting at 7 p.m.  It can be heard on 89.3FM, 90.3FM and online at www.FNLR.NET.

Julie was diagnosed with all Pre-curser B and had to start chemo. Julie undergoes weekly chemo treatments and frequently stays at the hospital for days and weeks at a time.

Even going through her treatments, she keeps her beautiful smile shining. Julie is a special young lady and this page was started to show support for her.
