BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE – Eastern Florida’s women’s soccer team closes its regular season on Friday hosting Broward College at 6 p.m.

And while Eastern Florida has defeated NJCAA Region 8 foe Broward (1-8-1) twice already this season, 9-0 and 5-0, and secured a postseason berth, there is still plenty of incentive for the Titans.

“We are playing Friday to continue the momentum we have had throughout the season,” EFSC head coach Jeff Carr said of his team that is 10-1 and ranked fourth in both national polls.

“Our focus is to get better each and every time we compete as we have to prepare for our game Nov 8. We will need to be more consistent in every aspect of the game. We are never satisfied as we have lofty goals to reach as a team.”

The Nov. 8 game is the NJCAA District H matchup with the Mississippi representative. The match, on the Melbourne Campus, carries with it an NJCAA national tournament berth for the winner and one of the Titans goals this season was to ensure a third straight tournament appearance.

The Titans, who are ranked fourth nationally in shots per game (28.2) and eighth in shots (310), also are ranked first nationally in penalty kicks, converting all three chances.

Sophomore midfielder and 2013 All-America Jamie Perriello leads EFSC in scoring with nine goals. Freshman midfielder Abbie Camargo is second with six. She also has a school-record 12 assists.

The Titans have scored 39 goals and allowed eight. Freshman goalkeeper Asmara Holmes has conceded seven goals in 677 minutes in 11 games while classmate Denise Rodriguez has conceded once in 330 minutes in seven games. Holmes has 34 saves and Rodriguez 14.
