Leads By Example, Provides the Space Coast With Education For Healthier Living
As CEO of Wuesthoff Health System, Tim Cerullo has made community engagement one of the top priorities of the organization.
Under Cerullo’s guidance, Wuesthoff has been able to provide more than a quarter million dollars to organizations such as the Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation and Space Coast Volunteers in Medicine over the last 18 months.
Wuesthoff also coordinates fundraising events throughout the year and has raised thousands of dollars for organizations like the United Way of Brevard and the American Heart Association.
Add the hundreds of volunteer hours provided by hospital associates for a better perspective on the breadth of assistance offered by Wuesthoff to support initiatives from health care screenings to free school supplies for needy children.
Cerullo leads his staff by example. Believing that any organization is only as strong as the community it supports, Cerullo serves on seven boards, including the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber and the United Way.
He urges his staff to do the same, resulting in representation by Wuesthoff associates in civic organizations across the county, including the Red Cross, March of Dimes and local Rotary Clubs.
When Wuesthoff associates aren’t at work, they are often active participants in more than 70 organizations that range from civic groups and fraternal organizations to local private nonprofits.
The Wuesthoff team also reaches out to the Space Coast with education programming that provides the tools and skills for healthier living.
Wuesthoff contributes more than four million dollars in benefits for the Space Coast, and nearly $10 million in taxes that support the greater good of the community.
Additionally, Wuesthoff continues to provide medically necessary emergency care for patients, regardless of their ability to pay.
FAMILIAR FACE AT EVENTS
Cerullo’s connection with the medical field spans more than two decades. For 14 years, he has served as chief executive officer, chief financial officer or chief operating officer in Florida hospitals.
As Wuesthoff’s leader, he oversees a healthcare organization that includes two Brevard County hospitals, plus same-day surgery centers, home healthcare, hospice house, assisted living facility and home medical equipment facility.
Cerullo is a familiar face at many community events, be they marathons or golf tournaments or school fairs and he encourages his staff to follow his lead.
“Wuesthoff Health System will continue to work in partnership with local organizations to support endeavors that strengthen our community,” said Cerullo.
