Police Discover Meth Lab, Melbourne Couple Arrested

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Leslee West, 26, and Brian West, 29, were arrested after the police responded to a substance abuse and environmental hazard report and then discovered a methamphetamine lab in their cottage at the Rocky Water Trailer Park, located at 2664 Pineapple Avenue in Melbourne.
The Melbourne couple was arrested about 7:15 p.m. on Saturday after an investigation of their cottage where police said they were met with a very strong odor of chemicals.
According to the police, Brevard County Sheriff’s Agents discovered materials consistent with a meth operation in their cottage.
The lab was then dismantled and Agents removed the chemicals used in the meth-making process.
The couple have a 2-year old and a 4-year old who live with them, and the Department of Children and Families turned the children over to a family member.
They were both charged with Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Listed Chemicals and Child Neglect.
