Queen, Vasquez Share EFSC Student-Athlete of Week

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Basketball players Jermohn Queen and Paola Vasquez are Eastern Florida State College’s Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 25.
Queen, a sophomore guard from Stuart, Florida and Martin County High, scored 21 points, grabbed seven rebounds and recorded two assists and a steal in a 79-46 home court victory over Indian River State.
He followed that with 12 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds and a steal in a 97-78 home court victory over Broward College.
Eastern Florida’s men’s basketball team finished the week at 21-2 overall and 4-1 in the Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference, tied for first place with Broward.
Eastern Florida has won 44 straight games at home.
Vasquez, a freshman guard for the women’s basketball team from Ciales, Puerto Rico and Florida Air Academy, scored a team-high 17 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, recorded seven steals, three assists and a blocked shot in a 66-51 home court victory over Indian River State.
Eastern Florida’s women finished the week at 15-6 overall and 6-1 in the conference, good for sole possession of first place. The Titans have won nine straight at home.
