Five Arrested in Brevard County Prescription Fraud Investigation, More Arrests Expected

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested five people in connection with an alleged prescription fraud scheme and says additional arrests are expected as the investigation remains active.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested five people in connection with an alleged prescription fraud scheme and says additional arrests are expected as the investigation remains active.

The suspects taken into custody have been identified as Latardra Walker, Amari Donovan, Keeara Cloud, Geornesha McFatten, and Andrew Colon.

According to investigators, the suspects are facing charges that include obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and organized fraud.

The sheriff’s office alleges the operation involved fraudulent prescriptions that were obtained through an individual employed at an undisclosed pain management clinic.

Investigators say that the person had access to the clinic’s computer system and allegedly used it to facilitate the scheme.

An arrest affidavit states that the investigation is ongoing.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that detectives expect additional arrests as they continue to examine the case.

Authorities have not released the name of the pain management clinic involved or disclosed how many fraudulent prescriptions were allegedly obtained as part of the operation.
