Brevard Hosts Women’s History Celebration

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Brevard County Government will host its first community celebration of Women’s History Month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at the Government Center, 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Building C, Viera.
The brown-bag lunch event is open to the public and features presentations by Holocaust survivor Gerda Stokler, Craig Technologies Founder Carol Craig and Brigadier General (Retired) Mary Ann Epps, three Brevard County women who have made a mark through personal, professional and historical perseverance and achievement.
ABOVE VIDEO: In honor of Women’s History Month, the White House welcomed a group of high school students to participate in a conversation with a mentoring panel at the White House. It was followed by a celebration in the East Room with President Obama and the First Lady.


The event, “Weaving the Stories of Women’s Lives,” will be held in the boardroom of the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners, first floor, Building C. Presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
On March 3, the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution recognizing March as Women’s History Month in Brevard County.
A brown-bag lunch is available for event attendees for $5.50 on-site through Complex Café and will include chicken, egg or tuna on a croissant roll, chips, soda or bottled water, and a cookie.
