Second-Consecutive Week With Most Sales In Nation
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – The Florida Lottery announced today that Scratch-Off ticket sales for the week ending March 8, 2015, exceeded $95.6 million, the highest, single-week Scratch-Off sales of any lottery in the country.
This record-breaking Scratch-Off sales week resulted in $17 million being generated for the benefit of Florida students and schools.
“Twenty Florida Lottery games had sales of more than $1 million last week,” said Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O’Connell. “This is good news across the board because higher sales result in more winners, increased commissions for retailers and more revenue generated for Florida’s students and schools.”
Last week’s sales were led by the new $10,000,000 FLORIDA CASH Scratch-Off game, with $20.8 million in sales, followed by the $600,000 GOLD RUSH Scratch-Off game, with more than $10.6 million in sales and 100X THE CASH, with more than $7.3 million in sales.
The Florida Lottery offers approximately 60 Scratch-Off games at any given time through vending machines or counter displays at more than 13,000 retail locations statewide. Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 64 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $640 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2013-14.
