BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – The Viera Company, in conjunction with the Viera Community Institute, is accepting nominations for the 2015 Hometown Education Hero Award, which will honor an outstanding member of the education community during the Great American Celebration on July 4.
Brevard County residents are invited to nominate any outstanding teacher, volunteer, coach, administration member, or anyone working towards having an impact on Brevard County students and their educational success.
The Great American Celebration is one of The Viera Company’s signature events, which celebrates our nation’s independence at Space Coast Stadium.
The winner of the Hometown Education Hero contest will receive a 12-person suite at the stadium to enjoy the celebration on the 4th of July with family and friends.
Only individuals residing and working in Brevard County can be nominated for the award.

“There are so many individuals within the county that spend countless hours inspiring our youth to learn and achieve, and we can’t wait to hear their stories,” said Karla-Mae Goodman, Vice President and Secretary of the Viera Community Institute.
“We hope to honor someone that goes above and beyond for education, and we look forward to giving our winner VIP-treatment at Viera’s 21st Annual Great American Celebration.”
The nominee’s accomplishments should be highlighted in an essay of up to 500 words, and the submission should also include contact information for the nominee including name, address, phone number, email and associated school or institution.
Entries must be submitted via email to applications@viera.com by June 15.
Tickets to the Great American Celebration can be purchased for $15 beginning May 15 here.
The ticket includes general admission to the Brevard County Manatees baseball game, an event T-shirt, a baseball cap, the fireworks show (weather permitting), and an all-you-can-eat BBQ dinner on the berm.
