BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Learn how to preserve your vision from Dr. Frank X. Venzara, Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Retina Surgeon, and Founder of Florida Retina Specialists, during a Free Lunch & Learn at Heritage Isles on Wednesday, June 24 at 12 noon.

This informative and free event will be held in the Heritage Isles Clubhouse, located at 6800 Legacy Boulevard in Viera.

Dr. Venzara is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Retina Surgeon who specializes in Macular Degeneration, Retinal Detachments, Diabetic Retinopathy, Eye Trauma, and all aspects of retina care.

He obtained a Biomedical Engineering degree followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Miami. He spent a year performing full-time research at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute followed by a 4-year residency at Texas A & M Scott & White Eye Institute.

Dr. Venzara completed his training at University of Alabama Birmingham where he performed over 1,100 Vitrectomy surgeries at the renowned Callahan Eye Hospital during his 2-year retina fellowship — that is 2.5 times the national average.

Dr. Venzara is a highly trained Vitreoretinal surgeon who specializes in microsurgery on the very delicate part of the eye that only a handful of surgeons in Brevard are trained to do. While working at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute he received the Edward W.D. Norton Memorial Award for Excellence in Research and Clinical Ophthalmology.

He has performed cutting-edge research in ophthalmology, and presented his research at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology multiple times over the last 7 years.
