BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – With the opening round of voting in the books, and the field of candidates dwindling from 18 to 10 on Monday, Florida Tech center fielder Kevin Wortman remains largely in the hunt for the TD Ameritrade Fan’s Choice Award.
After finishing in third amongst all contenders over the past two weeks, the voting has been reset and the remaining hopefuls will now vie to become one of four players to advance to the final round announced on June 15.
In the second round, he will go up against nominees from Delaware, Georgia Southern, Iowa, McNeese State, Nebraska, North Greenville, Rhode Island, St. Cloud State and St. Mary’s.
Facing some stiff competition, including members of NCAA Division I programs Iowa and Nebraska, Wortman’s nomination can be promoted by using the hashtag #VoteWort.
Fans are heavily encouraged to view his profile, and vote daily through Facebook, Twitter and a registered email address by visiting www.fanschoiceaward.com.
The TD Ameritrade Fan’s Choice Award is the only college baseball honor determined solely by the fans.
