EFSC’s Mickey DeMorat Finishes Southern Amateur 7 Strokes Back

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida golfer Michael DeMorat finished the Southern Amateur on Saturday with a 69 for a 4-under-par total of 280, just off the leaderboard.
Taylor Funk of Ponte Vedra, Florida won with a 72-hole total of 273.
The 109th Southern Amateur Golf Championship was held at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi and included players from 20 states and five foreign countries.
DeMorat’s Eastern Florida teammate Kerry Sweeney missed Thursday’s cut.
