Catherine Brooks of Palm Bay killed in crash

The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the 47-year old woman who was killed Sunday at about 2:30 p.m. as Catherine Brooks of Palm Bay.

BREVARD COUNTY • MALABAR, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the 47-year old woman who was killed Sunday at about 2:30 p.m. as Catherine Brooks of Palm Bay.

FHP said the Brook, driving a 1994 Dodge pick up truck, was traveling eastbound on Malabar Road, and for an unknown reason, left the roadway and overturned multiple times, coming to rest in a ditch.

Brook was not wearing a seatbelt, according to FHP.

Steven Ash, 16, of Palm Bay, received minor injuries in the crash and was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center. According to FHP, Ash was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
