BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Space Coast Ballet will present The Nutcracker at the King Center on December 5.

Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday, August 14 at noon. Ticket prices start at $19.

This magical Christmas tradition is an artistic masterpiece produced by Kirov Ballet trained directors and features internationally acclaimed principals Dusty Botton and Roddy Doble.

Loudon Wainwright III has had a long and illustrious career highlighted by more than two dozen album releases, a 2010 Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Album for High Wide & Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project, and two previous Grammy nominations for I’m Alright and More Love Songs.

His 2012 recording, Older Than My Old Man Now was named one of NPR’s Top 10 Albums of the Year.

Wainwright is perhaps best known for the novelty song Dead Skunk (in the Middle of the Road) and for playing Captain Calvin Spalding (the “singing surgeon”) on the American television show, M*A*S*H. His songs have been recorded by Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash, Earl Scruggs, Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Rufus Wainwright, and Mose Allison, among others.

As an actor, Wainwright has appeared in films directed by Martin Scorsese, Hal Ashby, Christopher Guest, Tim Burton, Cameron Crowe, and Judd Apatow.

Join him on December 13 in the intimate setting of the Studio Theatre.

Victory Casino Presents: Bowzer’s Rock and Roll Holiday Party with Herman’s Hermits Starring Peter Noone, Bowzer and The Stingrays, Jay Siegel’s Tokens, Freddy “Boom Boom” Cannon, Little Peggy March, and Rocky and The Rollers.

Don’t miss some of the legends of rock and roll!  Jon “Bowzer” Bauman, formerly of Sha Na Na, hosts the party and will perform some of his biggest hits. He will be joined by his friend Peter Noone. This will be Herman’s Hermits’ first appearance in Brevard County in many years.

They’re back!  The Omaha Community Playhouse, via its professional touring wing, the Nebraska Theatre Caravan, is returning with their unique version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. This Victorian version of Christmas magic is presented with a full array of traditional Christmas carols interwoven with the well-known story.

Each carol was chosen for the dramatic atmosphere it contributes to the total evening. Performed by a cast of 23 performers on a set evoking Currier and Ives prints and featuring special effects such as a spinning bed, this is a glorious holiday evening the whole family can enjoy!

Legendary folk music icon Arlo Guthrie is coming to the King Center to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the event that inspired the seminal song, Alice’s Restaurant Massacree.

Guthrie will perform his most prominent work in its entirety, as well as selections from every full-length studio album he’s released since his debut, Alice’s Restaurant in 1967. For the last five decades, Arlo has carried on the Guthrie family legacy of sharing timeless stories and unforgettable classics with audiences far and wide.

“The Alice’s Restaurant 50th Anniversary Tour” brings together an ensemble of fine musicians who never graced the stage together at one time.

Arlo’s deft band includes Terry Hall (drums), Bobby Sweet (guitar, vocals), Darren Todd (guitar), and his son, Abe Guthrie (keyboards).

Each show is also curated with a special multi-media presentation featuring previously unseen images from the Guthrie archives.

More than 75,000 photos have recently been digitized, and selections will be projected along with Peter Star’s claymation film depicting Arlo’s “Motorcycle Song”.
