BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech officially unveiled its new Adidas uniforms during the team’s annual picture day on Sunday at the Varsity Training Center.

This season, the Panthers will wear three different sets of uniforms – crimson, gray and white – and all are part of the Adidas Shockweb collection.

“Adidas has been very good to us so far and we’re excited to have a partnership with them,” head coach Steve Englehart said.

“We have three uniforms and nine possible uniform combinations. When you add in a few other things, there are even more combinations than that. New uniforms are like Christmas morning to players. Beyond that, I think the uniforms represent our school well and they represent our brand well.”

When the Panthers play at Florida Tech Panther Stadium, they will wear either their traditional home crimson jerseys or their alternate gray jerseys. Both sets have ‘Panthers’ across the chest and claw marks on the shoulders.

On the road, FIT will wear the white jerseys that have ‘Florida Tech’ across the chest and the Panthers logo on the shoulders.

“Usually, I like to have ‘Panthers’ on our chest at home and ‘Florida Tech’ on our chest when we’re away,” Englehart said.

“When we’re at home, we represent our mascot and when we’re on the road, we represent our school. The branding of the panther head is on our away uniform and we have claw marks on our home and alternate uniforms. I think the crimson jerseys with the silver numbers match well with our silver helmets. There was definitely a lot of thought in the design.”

When the Panthers saw the uniforms for the first time and tried them on, Englehart received nothing but positive reviews.

“Oh they love them, they absolutely love them,” he said.

“Not just the colors and the style, but they love the fit around the shoulder pads and arms. They’re really excited about starting a new year fresh. We felt like last year was a good year, but we left somethings out on the field. Something as simple as a new fresh start and new fresh uniforms adds extra motivation for our guys.”

FIT opens its third season of football on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. against Newberry at Florida Tech Panther Stadium, located at Palm Bay Magnet High School.
