Bicyclist Killed Thursday In Titusville After Being Struck By Car Near Parrish Medical Center

A man on a bike was struck and killed by a car on Thursday at 5:46 p.m. in the 900 block of N. Washington Avenue, according to Lt. Tom House of the Titusville Police Department. (TPD image)

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A man on a bike was struck and killed by a car on Thursday at 5:46 p.m. in the 900 block of N. Washington Avenue, according to Special Operations Lt. Tom House of the Titusville Police Department.

“The preliminary investigation reveals that an adult male bicyclist exited the main entrance/exit of Parrish Medical Center into the path of a Dodge Charger that was traveling northbound,” said Lt. House in a release.

“The driver of the vehicle attempted to swerve to miss the bicyclist but was unsuccessful. Titusville Fire and Emergency Services provided emergency medical treatment, but the bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The victim’s name will not be released until his next-of-kin can be notified.

The driver of the Dodge Charger stopped to assist and is cooperating with investigators, according to Lt. House.

The results of the investigation will be released by the Traffic Homicide Investigator at the conclusion of his investigation.
