Florida Highway Patrol Arrest Suspect In Deadly Car Crash, Charged With DUI Manslaughter

The Florida Highway Patrol has reported a vehicle crash with injuries at about 12:05 p.m. on Saturday in the northbound lanes of I-95 at Mile Marker 162 in Sebastian.
Florida Highway Patrol arrested a suspect in a deadly head-on collision last month on State Road 407 that resulted in the death of young 20-year-old woman Keri De Mott.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol arrested 22-year-old Keith Pumphrey for a deadly head-on collision last month on State Road 407 that resulted in the death of 20-year-old woman Keri De Mott.

On October 10, around 12:30 a.m., Pumphrey’s 2004 Honda Pilot veered into the on-coming lane and collided head on with the victim’s 2001 Honda CRV, according to Sgt. Kim Montes, Florida Highway Patrol Public Affairs Officer.

De Mott was transported to Orlando where she was later pronounced dead.

Pumphrey was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center with critical injuries, then later to a rehab center in Jacksonville, where State Troopers arrested him and transported him to the Brevard County Jail.

Keith Pumphrey, 22, was charged with DUI Manslaughter on Wednesday.
