AVON PARK @ COCOA 7:30 p.m.
ABOVE VIDEO: Cocoa hosts Avon Park tonight at Tiger Stadium with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. Coming off an impressive victory last week against Bishop Verot 49-12, Cocoa enters tonight’s contest 9-2 on the year while Avon Park boast a 10-1 record. Cocoa is led by their stars QB Bruce Judson, RB Timmy Pratt and WR Chauncey Gardner. Judson has had an impressive year running the ball by accumulating 1074 yards rushing on 114 carries resulting in a 9.4 yards per carry. The junior QB visited Florida State last week and said after the visit Florida State has moved up to the top of list schools he is considering for the class of 2017. Notable offers include Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Miami, and Ohio State. Timmy Pratt has shined in his junior season tallying 1426 yards rushing on 188 carries on the year. Last week, he gained 131 yards on just 8 carries. Cocoa will look to advance to the regional final where they would face the winner of the Booker T. Washington vs Glades Central matchup. HERITAGE @ MAINLAND 7:30 p.m.
ABOVE VIDEO: Heritage Panthers go on the road to Daytona this week where they will face one of the best teams in Florida, the Mainland Buccaneers. Mainland, has outscored their last 4 opponents by a combined score of 148-10. Heritage is coming off a dominant victory last week against Deltona 56-14. MARTIN COUNTY @ VIERA 7:30 p.m.
ABOVE VIDEO: Viera, one of the hottest teams in Brevard County, will host Martin County tonight in a rematch from earlier this year where the Viera Hawks held off Martin County on the road 17-14. Viera, 7-4 on the year, has outscored their last three opponents by a total score of 139-20. Offensively, Viera is led by senior QB Hayden Kingston, RB Brennen DePlancke, WR Tre Nixon and WR Alex Cabrera. Kingston has led all teams in Brevard County by tossing for 3,045 yards at a 65% completion percentage rate, 37 total touchdowns and only 9 interceptions. One of Kingston’s go-to wide receivers is Tre Nixon, the highly touted 2016 recruit has eclipsed over 1,000 yards in receiving with 17 touchdowns on 59 catches. The game between these two schools was very physical the last time these two teams played, expect a similar style game with both teams seasons on the line at Viera Stadium Friday night.
MERRITT ISLAND @ BISHOP MOORE 7:30 p.m.
ABOVE VIDEO: Merritt Island will have quite the challenge this week when they visit Bishop Moore. The Hornets have dominated their opponents this year by not allowing more than a touchdown in 9 of their 11 games this year. Bishop Moore, 10-1 on the year, sent a Brevard County team home last week when they defeated Palm Bay 38-7. Merritt Island will look to pull off one of the bigger upsets in Florida Friday night in Orlando, kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
