BREVARD COUTNY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Shequana Harris and Patrick Anderson of the Florida Tech women’s and men’s basketball teams earned Panther Student-Athlete of the Week laurels on Monday for their performances.

Harris put on an impressive all-around display last week while leading the Panthers to a near-upset of No. 3 Nova Southeastern and a win over Webber. She averaged team-highs in points (17.0 ppg), rebounds (6.3 rpg) and steals (4.3 spg) in addition to dishing out the second-most assists (3.0 apg) over three games.

The redshirt-junior helped put FIT in a position to win against the Sharks Tuesday by scoring a team-high 20 points to go along with a career-high seven steals, five rebounds and two assists.

In Friday’s contest against Sioux Falls, the guard posted a team-high 16 points in 30 minutes of action. She also registered a season-high seven rebounds, four steals and four assists.

Harris put an end to the Panthers’ skid on Saturday, scoring a team-high 15 points in 29 minutes, and raking in seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. Through six games this season, the Bronx, New York native is currently first in the Sunshine State Conference in steals and second in scoring.

Anderson helped guide the Panthers to a perfect 3-0 week and the Florida Tech Thanksgiving Tournament Championship following a decisive 72-55 win over North Greenville this past Saturday.

In the first half alone against Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras in Friday’s semifinal, the Kentucky native tallied 14 of the team’s 19 points in the final 4:50 before halftime. He connected on all five of his three-point attempts, tying a career-high with 20 points in the opening period.

Named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, the sophomore point guard averaged team-highs in points (17.5 ppg), assists (5.0 apg) and steals (4.0 spg), while draining 7-of-13 shots from beyond the arc. Through seven starts this season, Anderson is currently second among the SSC in steals and fourth in assist totals.

The women’s and men’s basketball teams will jump back into SSC action with road visits to Eckerd Wednesday.

The women’s team will take on the Tritons at 5:30 p.m. ET, while the men tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
