BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Sharks have captured our imaginations for hundreds of years, stirring the fears and fascination of ocean goers and scientists alike.
The only traveling Shark Encounter expo in the USA will wow the crowds during the three-day Port Canaveral Seafood & Music Festival extravaganza, set for February 26-28 at the Exploration Tower.
The Exposition will be featured in the Shark Experience Pavilion, which features a specially designed aquarium that holds several sharks and divers at the same time. There will be three free shows on Friday, Feb. 26, and four shows each day on Saturday and Sunday.
The show and exhibit combines education and entertainment – along with a few surprises for the audience.

“This is a very unique show and will really give the audience a special insight into the life of one of the ocean’s most feared predators,” said Giles Malone of Brevard Productions, who is organizing the family seafood festival.
“We feel that this Shark Encounter Experience is a terrific addition to the Port Canaveral Seafood and Music festival as it will help our patrons better understand these magnificent creatures.”
To help bring awareness to the public about sharks, Canaveral Port Authority District 3 Commissioner Wayne Justice will dive deep into the Shark Encounter and interact with the “man eaters.”
Commissioner Justice knows a thing or two about the ocean. As a retired rear admiral, he was the military aide to both President Bill Clinton and President George H.W. Bush, and also was the commanding officer of the Coast Guard ship that intercepted the first Cuban boat from the Mariel boatlift.
“If it helps bring pubic awareness about the ocean and its creatures then I am in for it,” said Commissioner Justice.
