Melbourne Beach Powerball Winners Are Maureen Smith and David Kaltschmidt

Press Conference Took Place In Tallahassee
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Florida Lottery officials held a press conference at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Tallahassee and revealed that Maureen Smith and David Kaltschmidt won part of the Jan.13 $1.58 billion jackpot with a ticket purchased at Publix in Melbourne Beach.
The winners only bought one ticket.
“It’s the same numbers I’ve bought for years,” said Schmidt.
Where have they been this past month?
“We just kept quiet, just acted normal,” said Smith.
The couple have lived in Melbourne Beach since 1991.
The Brevard County jackpot winners won the world record $1.58 billion prize with two other lucky winners in California and Tennessee.
Each jackpot winner won a whopping $528 million.
There were also 11 $1 million winners and one $2 million winner.
Publix in Melbourne Beach also cashed in and will receive $100,000 from the Florida Lottery for selling one of the winning jackpot tickets.
