Baseball Talent Thriving at Division I Level
Former Viera standout Alex Sosa has emerged as one of the top contributors for the University of Miami.
After beginning his collegiate career at North Carolina State, Sosa transferred closer to home and has helped power the Hurricanes to a 29-11 record this season.
The 2023 Viera graduate is batting .316 with 12 home runs and 53 RBIs, providing middle-of-the-order production for Miami.
Eau Gallie graduate Riley Jackson also continues to develop at the Division I level.
After starting his college career at Florida State, Jackson transferred to the University of Houston in 2024 and is now in his second season with the Cougars.
Jackson has posted a .254 batting average with eight home runs and 24 RBIs this season.

Another former Eau Gallie standout, DeAmez Ross, has become an important piece for the University of Central Florida after previously playing at Florida State.
The 2022 graduate is batting .277 with two home runs and 25 RBIs while helping anchor the Knights’ lineup.

On the mound, Merritt Island graduate Kide Adetuyi has enjoyed a breakout season for Florida Atlantic University.
After missing all of 2024 because of injury and pitching limited innings last season, Adetuyi has become a reliable arm for the Owls.
The right-hander owns a 4.09 ERA with opponents batting just .219 against him. He has recorded 78 strikeouts in 50 innings over 12 appearances.

Softball Standouts Continue Dominance
In softball, Melbourne native Jasmine “Jazzy” Francik has continued her rise as one of the top pitchers in collegiate softball at Florida State.
The former Melbourne High star burst onto the national scene as a freshman and has been even more dominant during her sophomore campaign.
Francik opened the 2026 season with a no-hitter and currently owns a 20-2 record with a 1.85 ERA and 96 strikeouts.

Former Eau Gallie standout Sarah Langlie has built on an award-winning freshman season at Barry University.
After earning all-conference first-team honors and freshman of the year recognition last season, Langlie has elevated her offensive numbers even further as a sophomore.
Langlie is batting .362 with five home runs and 50 RBIs for the Buccaneers.

At Florida Tech, Viera graduate Haley Rider has remained a key contributor for the Panthers.
Rider hit just under .380 as a freshman and has continued producing during her sophomore season, batting .263 with three home runs and 25 RBIs.
