BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Naples-based Solaris Foundation, Inc. has added two renowned Merritt Island communities to its portfolio of healthcare facilities.

Formerly known as The Health Center of Merritt Island, Solaris Healthcare Merritt Island is a skilled nursing facility that features a 3,000 square-foot rehab suite.

Previously known as The Place at Merritt Island, Solaris Senior Living is an 84-unit assisted living facility offering 24/7 nursing services, and three levels of care for residents.

Solaris will combine the tenured, skilled staff at both locations with new program enhancements and property upgrades to offer superior care. Managers at the skilled nursing facility have an average tenure of 19 years at the same location – thus the phrase “New Name, Same Heart.”

“The Solaris Foundation is committed to improving the health and wellness of individuals in the southeast,” said John Helsel, Solaris Founder and CEO of the non-profit organization.

“We will improve our ability to deliver high quality healthcare solutions for aging seniors in our communities.”

RESIDENTS AT SOLARIS HEALTHCARE Merritt Island enjoy the welcoming environment. “The staff is wonderful – they are loving and caring,” said long-time resident Grace Littlefield, above with Chelsea Ross, CNA.

JOINING FORCES

By joining forces, the skilled nursing facility and the assisted living community can help more people, and offer greater efficiency.

“With both properties now under the Solaris umbrella, we think of our care teams as offering ‘Hands across Crockett Boulevard,’” said Leslie Williams, the long-time administrator at Solaris Healthcare Merritt Island.

ABUNDANT SERVICES

Solaris’ assisted living facility – Solaris Senior Living – offers an abundance of services designed for comfort and convenience.

Residents have a choice of eight floor plans, and enjoy an active social and recreation calendar. They enjoy three restaurant-style meals each day, and an all-new menu is coming this spring.

“Now that the two centers are reunited, we have more resources – and can deliver more coordinated care – to Brevard residents,” said Williams.

“The properties enjoy very close proximity. This eases visitation for family members, and allows easy access to an array of services.”
