FOX 13: Tampa Bay Times Buys Out Competitor Tampa Tribune, 100 Employees Will Lose Jobs

at least 100 Tribune workers will lose jobs
(FOX 13) – The Tampa Bay Times has purchased the Tampa Tribune, according to a release from the Times.
The release says the transition will give the locally-owned newspaper “solid financial footing.”
The Times said it would honor advertising and subscriptions of both papers, and Tribune subscribers will begin receiving the Times Wednesday, May 4.
CEO Paul Tash tells paper at least 100 Tribune workers will lose jobs. Tribune workers who lose jobs will get 60 days pay.
