UPDATE: Tuesday’s Titusville House Fire Ruled Arson By State Fire Marshal

UPDATE: State Fire Marshal has determined the fire was intentionally set on second floor.
BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Fire with assistance from Brevard County Fire Rescue at around 2:51 pm this afternoon responded to a report of a Structure Fire in an abandon house located at 1104 Tropic Street.
The 2-story house was condemned today approximately 1 hour prior to the report of the fire.
Dark black smoke and fire was issuing through the roof upon arrival and the fire was fought from a defensive position as a result.
The fire was resistive to initial attempts to extinguish, but knockdown was achieved approximately 20 min. after receiving the call.
With a Heat Index of 96 degrees and the addition of full turnout gear and equipment, extra attention is being given to the well being of all personnel on scene.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and the State Fire Marshal has been contacted.
