SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA (FOX 35) – George Zimmerman claims he was punched by a man on Sunday at Gators Riverside Grille in Seminole County.

According to a report from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, Zimmerman was telling a group of people that he shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in self-defense.

Zimmerman told investigators a man approached him, and asked him if he was bragging about killing Martin.

Zimmerman replied, “No.” According to deputies, the man used several racial slurs, while telling Zimmerman to get out of the bar, then punched him. Zimmerman then called 911.

According to Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, the unknown man took off on a motorcycle and could face a charge of assault and battery.

A police report shows several people who witnessed the exchange — and the punch — gave very different accounts of what happened. Zimmerman told officers he was approached by others at the restaurant about who he was, in reference to shooting Martin. Others in the restaurant said Zimmerman was approaching people, telling them who he was and what he was known for.
