BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Institute of Technology is once again among the top universities in the United States, according to the U.S. News World Report 2017 Best Colleges rankings released today.

Named to the Tier 1 Best National University list as one of the top 220 four-year colleges and universities in the country – a group drawn from the magazine’s in-depth assessment of more than 1,600 institutions – Florida Tech reaffirmed its status as a premier university both nationally and closer to home.

Florida Tech was one of just six Florida universities in Tier 1 and the second-highest ranked private National University in the Sunshine State, behind only University of Miami.

“We offer and expect excellence, and we appreciate that the U.S. News & World Report rankings show that our efforts are recognized.”

Florida Tech’s excellence went beyond its standing as a premier national university.

For the second consecutive year, the Melbourne-based university earned the top spot in the magazine’s “Schools with the Most International Students” list. International students who were enrolled in 2015 came from 123 countries, the most in the last 10 years.

“In a global culture, befriending and learning to collaborate with students from other countries can be rewarding personally and professionally,” – US NEWS & WORLD REPORT

McCay added, “Florida Tech alumni are leaders in science, business and technology from Silicon Valley to Dubai. The foundation they get here goes well beyond book knowledge alone, and we are pleased to produce such well-rounded, successful global citizens.”
