BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Friends of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard will host a spectacular James Bond Themed Gala event – Casino Royale – on Saturday, Oct. 8, to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard.
The event is being held at the Merritt Island Estate home of Keith and Lila Buescher, and cohosted by Dr. Ravi and Ambika Palaniyandi.
The Friends of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard is the fundraising and community awareness organization for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard, which serves the entire county and was established in April 1996 as a means to improve our community’s response to child abuse and neglect.
The Advocacy Center is a collaborative effort of the Child Protection Team of Brevard, the Florida Department of Children and Families, the Office of the State Attorney, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, and all municipal law enforcement agencies in Brevard.
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard, a program of the Space Coast Health Foundation, is nationally accredited and follows a successful national model that is being replicated around the United States.
The Advocacy Center is a safe place for young victims of abuse, a child-friendly setting where caring professionals peel away the layers of confusion, fear and shame from the girls and boys who have suffered from abuse or neglect. In fiscal year 2015 there were over 1,730 assessments of child abuse completed at the Advocacy Center.
“As a sponsor of the event, you have the opportunity to be identified with an organization that is following a national model that has proven to be successful in addressing the issue of child abuse across the United States,” said Lila Buescher.
“The Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard is an accredited member of the National Children’s Alliance, which recognizes that we have met 10 comprehensive standards of excellence.
“Your sponsorship means that you, too, believe in what we are doing and you are willing to get involved to enable the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard provide the best services possible to our community’s abused children.”
