Sandbags Available To Brevard Residents Starting Today At Two Brevard County Locations

Brevard Residents are encouraged to be prepared, sandbags are available today through 3 p.m. today for area residents at the Brevard County Sheriff’s Work Farm, 2955 Pluckebaum Road, in Cocoa. Then, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, jail trusties will fill and load sandbags for the public until 3 p.m. There is a limit of 10 bags per visit

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – In response to the potential impact of Hurricane Matthew, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office will be distributing free sandbags beginning today.

Citizens can respond to two locations, Tuesday, October 4, 2016;  Brevard Sheriff’s Office Farm, located at 2955 Pluckebaum Road, Cocoa, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Kings Park, located at 995 Chase Hammock Road, Merritt Island, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

A schedule for Wednesday will be released tomorrow pending updated weather impacts.

There is a limit of 10 sandbags per vehicle. The bags will be filled and loaded into the vehicles by supervised Inmate Work Crews.
