Brevard County is the recipient of State Medical Response Team (SMRT) and federal resources Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) to support our local hospitals with increased needs while Cape Canaveral Hospital prepares to re-open.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County is the recipient of State Medical Response Team (SMRT) and federal resources Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) to support our local hospitals with increased needs while Cape Canaveral Hospital prepares to re-open on Wednesday.

A Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) is a group of federal medical personnel organized to provide rapid-response medical care during a disaster. This team is being deployed to Holmes Regional Medical Center.

Florida State Medical Response Team SMRTs is a group of state medical personnel that assists in providing medical care during a disaster. This team is being deployed to Parrish Medical Center in Titusville.

Both of these teams are being deployed for several days to one week to be able to continue to serve the medical needs of citizens of Brevard County.
