Shooting Incident In Melbourne Injures Man Monday Morning, Police Investigating

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Monday morning at around 8:25 am after police received information regarding several gunshots heard in the area of the 1100 block of Bridgewater Dr., according to Cmdr. Sean Riordan of the Melbourne Police Department.
As police were enroute to the scene, information came in describing an involved vehicle as a gold Chrysler four door.
The vehicle was last seen heading southbound from the area. A Be-On- The-Lookout (BOLO) was broadcasted to surrounding police agencies for the vehicle.
When police arrived on scene at 1121 Bridgewater Dr., they found a man with serious gunshot injuries and was taken to hospital for medical treatment, according to police.
While officers were speaking to witnesses, an alert Florida Highway Patrol Trooper located the gold Chrysler and stopped the vehicle at SR 520 and Range Rd. Melbourne police responded to the trooper’s location to make contact with the driver.
Currently, the Melbourne Police Department is not aware of any other involved parties and they are not searching for anyone else.
