BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Austin Awad has been dealing with an injury for the past few games, but on Saturday afternoon he was feeling just fine.

Awad hit six 3-pointers in the first half to lead the Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team to a 128-72 victory over Miami Dade at Titan Field House.

“He is finally starting to get healthy, getting him back is huge for us and he looked as healthy as he has in a few weeks,” Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said.

“It’s great having an all-conference player like him back healthy.”

The 128 points is the most points scored by a Titans team under head coach Jeremy Shulman.

With the Titans up 63-31 heading into the second half, Miami-Dade scored four quick points to cut into the lead but Kareem Brewton made sure there would be no comeback, helping the Titans go on an 11-2 run to push the lead to 38.

Brewton would also finish with 18 points, 11 coming early in the second half. Ahmed Ali finished with 17 points, while Joan Duran had 13 and Noah Horchler and Mike Nuga finished with 10 points apiece.

“We really talked in the pregame and in practice this week about sharing the basketball more and we shared it today,” Shulman said.

“A lot of the guys stepped up tonight and it was just a total team effort.”

“We really talked in the pregame and in practice this week about sharing the basketball more and we shared it today,” Coach Jeremy Shulman said.

The Titans, who are now 18-3 overall and 4-2 in the conference, have dominated teams at home this season where they are 8-0 and have won by an average margin of 29 points.

“It is a testament to a lot of things but I want to thank the crowd. It was an unbelievable crowd and it shows. It energized us tonight,” Shulman said.

Eastern Florida State College will be back at Titan Field House Tuesday night, hosting ASA Miami in a Southern Conference matchup.
