Stephen "Steak" Shapiro hosts Atlanta Eats

ABOVE VIDEO: Direct from the popular syndicated television show, Atlanta Eats, Stephen “Steak” Shapiro was invited back in November by Space Coast Office of Tourism to come down and feature the best of the lifestyle, entertainment and of course, food on Brevard County’s coastline.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Direct from the popular syndicated television show, Atlanta Eats, Stephen “Steak” Shapiro was invited back in November by the Space Coast Office of Tourism to come down and feature the best of the lifestyle, entertainment and of course, food, on the Space Coast. 

Steak Shapiro as he is known, did an excellent job in the 13-minute segment which featured four Brevard County waterfront restaurants and four celebrities, who hail from or call the Space Coast home.

The celebrities included two graduates of Satellite High, who both happen to be Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame members.

Shapiro is also a sports talk show host in Atlanta where he is one of three voices on the popular morning drive program called, The Front Row.

Steak spent 17 years hosting one of the city’s most popular sports talk shows “Mayhem in the AM’, where he won numerous Gabby (Georgia Broadcasting) awards as city’s top talk host.

Shapiro decided to venture outside the sports world and went after his second biggest passion as current founder/CEO of city’s most popular dining out brand Atlanta Eats which includes a weekly TV show that airs twice a week throughout the southeast, which Steak hosts.

The first stop in the segment was Fat Kahuna’s in Cocoa Beach where 2001 World Tour Surfing Champion and Satellite Beach graduate, C.J. Hobgood joined Shapiro.

C.J., along with his brother Damien, were inducted into the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

From there Shapiro dined at Rusty’s Seafood and Oyster Bar located at Port Canaveral. With a spectacular view of Kennedy Space Center launches it only made sense to invite an astronaut.

At Yellow Dog Cafe located along the banks of the Indian River on US 1 in Melbourne, Shapiro invited Cocoa Beach native and former Satellite Scorpion goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris.

Harris was a member of Team USA’s championship–winning team at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Vancouver, Canada and was inducted in the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.

Shapiro winds up his Space Coast segment with a stop at Djon’s Steak and Lobster in Melbourne Beach. Joining him there was Cocoa Beach native, Captain Blair Wiggins.

Wiggins has hosted the top rated fishing show on television for the past 17-years, Addictive Fishing.

The entire segment was well done as the Space Coast Office of Tourism paid $50, 000 to be featured on the popular show.
