BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – For the 29th time since 2006 and the fourth time this year, the Holy Trinity Tigers and Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers will tip-off on the basketball court tonight at 7 p.m. at MCC.

Space Coast Daily and the Friday Night Locker Room’s Alan Zlotorzynski will broadcast (audio only) the contest on Space Coast Daily.com and SCD TV on Facebook Live.

The Tigers enter tonight’s contest having won both regular season matchups this year and 11 of the past 13 meetings between the two schools.

However, MCC came away with the one that mattered most, at least until tonight, when they defeated Holy Trinity, 68-66 just 11 days ago, to claim the District 5A 7 championship at Cocoa High School.

MCC trailed by as many as 12 in the first quarter but scratched and clawed their back following a timeout in which head coach Rob Terry told his team, “You can’t lose games in the first quarter.”

Terry’s words turned out to be true as junior point guard Caleb Price buried a clutch three with under a minute to play to put the Hustlers ahead for good.

During the regular season contests, Holy Trinity defeated MCC by scores of 66-65 and 57-49.

In this very game, last year, the Class 4A State Regional Semifinals, Holy Trinity needed overtime to oust MCC, 70-68.
