Exciting changes are taking place

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Exciting changes are taking place at Solaris Senior Living, the assisted living facility located just west of Courtney Parkway in the heart of Merritt Island.
Seasoned healthcare professional Evelyn Nunez Cruz has been named Executive Director, and she brings a strong dedication to teamwork and excellence to her new role.
“I’ve very excited to join a tenured team that has the experience, the dedication and the heart to offer exemplary care to our residents,” she said.
Nunez Cruz began her career in skilled nursing in Martin County, and previously served as an Assistant Executive Director for Allegro. She has nine years’ experience leading top-notch care teams.
Solaris Assisted Living is an 85-bed assisted living community in Merritt Island that features spacious floorplans and a friendly atmosphere that feels like home.
Like Solaris Healthcare Merritt Island, the renowned skilled nursing facility right across the street, the assisted living is owned by the Solaris Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Naples, Florida.
“When people walk in, I want them to feel welcomed, and that they are a part of the family,’ said Nunez Cruz. “Our goal is to enhance quality of life for every resident, every day,” she said.
Solaris offers 24/7 nursing services and three levels of care for residents.

NEW SHUTTLE BUS
A brand-new shuttle bus is on hand to take residents of both communities to appointments.
“Solaris Healthcare now has a dedicated vehicle to take residents of both communities to their doctors’ appointments and check-ups,” said Leslie Williams, Administrator of the skilled nursing facility.
With its eye-catching Solaris wrap, the new bus is easily recognizable, and scheduled to take Solaris Assisted Living residents on a number of fun excursions.
“We’ll use the new bus to take residents on trips to view the beach, the windsurfers, and scenic areas,” said Teri Bennin, Activities Director at Solaris Senior Living.
“We also take residents on monthly luncheon outings, and soon, to attend concerts at Merritt Island High School.”

ABUNDANT SERVICES
Solaris Senior Living offers an abundance of services designed for comfort and convenience.
Residents have a choice of eight floor plans, and enjoy an active social and recreation calendar. They enjoy three restaurant-style meals each day in a beautiful southern-style dining room.
They also have convenient access to Solaris Healthcare Merritt Island, which is right across the street.
“If an assisted living resident needs care at Solaris Healthcare, it’s a very natural transition between the two facilities – patients already know the staff,” said Williams.
With Nunez Cruz at the helm of a top-notch, compassionate staff, and the added peace of mind of Solaris Healthcare just steps away, Solaris Senior Living is here to meet your needs.
