As part of its ongoing system hardening project, contractors for Florida Power & Light Company will be closing Magnolia Ave. between US 1 and Laurie St. to thru traffic between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. beginning Monday, May 1, to allow the installation of new transmission poles.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – As part of its ongoing system hardening project, contractors for Florida Power & Light Company will be closing Magnolia Ave. between US 1 and Laurie St. to thru traffic between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. beginning Monday, May 1, to allow the installation of new transmission poles.

It is anticipated the work will be completed within 3 to 4 weeks, according to the City of Melbourne.

Traffic will be routed via detour signage around the work area via Laurie St. and Babcock St.

Locally affected residents shall have access to their homes at all times.
